Posted 6 years agoLimited in number, Abarth’s 695 models are the ultimate versions of the Fiat 500-derived high-performance hatchbacks.
Since Abarth began to produce cars again in 2008, it has always offered special models. These models are always limited production and feature an array of special features, parts, or are built in collaboration with other brands. All of these models are badged ‘695’.
Over the course of the last decade, Abarth has partnered with fellow Italian marques Ferrari, Maserati as well as motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha and luxury yacht builder Riva. Abarth also marks special occasions in history, releasing a 50th anniversary model and releasing just 133 models of the hardcore ‘Biposto’ to celebrate the 133 track records held by the company.
For a number of years, Ferrari commissioned Abarth to produce special Ferrari dealership cars to provide customers with a unique experience while their supercars were being serviced or repaired. The most recent 695 models to be released were the 695 ‘XSR Yamaha Edition’ and the 695 ‘Rivale’. The former was produced in partnership with Yamaha, who released a special edition Abarth motorcycle in collaboration, giving buyers the chance to have one of each. 695 hatchbacks and 695 convertibles were produced, and all models got an exhaust from Slovenian experts Akrapovic, as well as a carbon fibre dashboard and wing mirrors. All were finished in grey with red striping.
The 695 Rivale is a model that is still available, albeit in extremely limited quantities. It celebrates high-end yacht builder Riva and comes in a distinctive two-tone silver paint with navy blue, separate by a lighter blue pinstripe. Customers can request a ‘Mahogany Pack’ made by Riva themselves which installs a mahogany dashboard and gear knob along with door sills and steering wheel details. To complete a nautical feel, blue leather seating comes as standard as well as an Akrapovic exhaust and a 180bhp high performance output. As with all 695 models, you have to move quick to get one – just 350 have been produced.
