Posted one year agoUpcoming Audi Q8 takes luxury and style to new levels in a car that shares DNA with two mighty machines that have already made the headlines.
As the SUV craze continues, manufacturers are finding new ways to make SUVs more appealing across the market, including at the very top where even Rolls-Royce is currently making one. Other than Rolls, other motoring royalty such as Bentley and even Lamborghini have rolled out high performance SUVs baring their crests, and both of those cars – the’ Bentayga’ and the ‘Urus’ respectively – are closely related to this – the Audi Q8 for lease.
The lease Audi Q8 is a new large SUV with a sporty design that aims to entice customers who want a big, luxurious SUV but aren’t necessarily attracted to the taller shapes such as in the Q7. The lower, wider, and more imposing Q8 shouts performance even when stationary and features the new Audi design cues inside and out including the large cross-body light cluster at the rear and twin-infotainment screen setup inside.
Initially, the engine under the bonnet of the Q8 will be the excellent 3.0-litre V6 ‘TDI’ diesel, which has plenty of power and torque to get the big Q8 moving and should prove to be quiet and refined at all times. It’s mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox much like the Q7 SUV and should be just as comfortable to ride as it comes standard with air suspension for the UK market. That suspension can be adjusted to increase and decrease ride height depending on what surface you tell the Q8 you’re going to be driving on, so off-road it’ll raise itself for greater ground clearance, and in sporty settings it will lower itself for better handling. Handling capability should be impressive, the Q8 has been engineered to be a slightly sportier feeling SUV and comes with ‘quattro’ all-wheel drive as standard.
Though obviously quite different to the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus, the lease Q8 shares DNA with these two and so should be an extremely rewarding driving experience at a much more sensible price point. As the range matures, new engines are expected to be introduced along with a plug-in hybrid version and one suspects we might see a ‘SQ8’ version as the ‘SQ7’ already exists and has proven to be an excellent car.
