Audi TT Coupe Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
Although it feels like a very modern car, the Audi TT coupe was actually initially designed way back in 1994 before making its debut as a concept car at the following year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The first generation of Audi TT coupe later launched in 1998 and unbelievably, that generation of the car still looks modern today. We’re now into the third (and by all accounts, what will be the final) generation of the Audi TT, a beautiful two-door sports car that looks and feels special, and makes the driver feel the same way.
What does TT mean, though? Time Trial? Technology and Tradition? Twin Turbo? No, none of the above. It stands for Tourist Trophy, the name of the Isle of Man’s famous motorcycle race. In the earlier part of the 20th century, the old car and motorcycle manufacturer NSU entered bikes into this event and then began to name cars “TT” after its success in the races there. NSU later became one of the marks that joined to become Audi, so Audi named the TT in honour of the tradition in its ancestry.
The third generation of Audi TT was introduced back in 2014 and is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. This modular design platform allowed for the creation of many cars of varying styles and shapes at a reduced cost, thanks to the shared underpinnings. Power comes from either a TDI turbo diesel engine or a TFSI turbo petrol engine. All engines are 4-cylinder and come with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Quattro, Audi’s famous all-wheel drive system is also on hand to provide additional stability and improved acceleration to the TT coupe, though the TT can also be had in front-wheel driven guises too. Power outputs range from 194 to 261bhp.
The interior of the Audi TT coupe is one of the great interior designs of the last decade. It is hugely minimalist and has been credited with being the inspiration behind more minimalist interiors of recent years. The controls and infotainment are controlled purely through the clever virtual cockpit system behind the steering wheel, there’s no infotainment mounted to the dashboard, producing a clean, uncluttered style reminiscent of classic cars of the 1970s.
Now in its final generation, the Audi TT coupe can still be leased from Synergy on business and personal lease agreements. Get in touch with our friendly and professional team members today to find out how.
