The lease M4 is one of the finest high-performance cars ever made and for a long time was coupe only. Thanks to a renaming structure at BMW a few years ago, the ‘M3’ became the designation for the four-door version of this special car, and the M4 is the coupe and convertible bodied version.
Really, there’s very little difference between the M3 and the M4, so if you feel like an extra couple of doors for the rear seats would be useful, you won’t lose anything in terms of performance by opting to choose the M3. Equally, if you want a sportier coupe look and don’t need the extra practicality, the M4 is the one to have.
Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that puts out 425bhp in standard M4 trim, and 444bhp when the ‘Competition Pack’ is selected. The performance figures that result from such a powerful engine are of course rather impressive. 62mph is hit in just 4.2-seconds in the coupe with the competition pack - 4.5-seconds if you opt for one of our BMW M4 convertible lease deals - and top speed is limited to 155mph. Occasionally, BMW will release limited edition version of its M4, most recently the ‘CS’ but you have to move fast if you want to get your hands on a limited edition as they are highly prized by ‘M Car’ enthusiasts and BMW often releases them in small batches.
