In recent years, BMW M has turned its attention to newer models in the BMW range too, models such as the X4, a coupe-shaped SUV that sits within the model line-up as a more stylised version of the . So, what has the motorsport division done with it?
Well, what we have here is called the BMW X4 M. It’s a BMW X4, but the M division has done some serious work on its performance credentials. It’s still sensible, still practical, and still with that stylish edge, but now it features a selection of potent engines and upgraded components designed to enhance the car’s driving dynamics.
The engines get no more potent than the BMW X4 M Competition. This model gets a highly tuned version of the 3.0-litre straight-six twin-turbo petrol engine set up to produce 510 horsepower, meaning it can accelerate from a standstill to 62mph in just 3.8-seconds, a stunning figure for what is essentially a family vehicle.
