Citroen Berlingo Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
One of Europe’s most popular small commercial vehicles gets updated and enhanced for modern business.
Group PSA – the owners of Peugeot, Citroen, and Vauxhall – have produced 3 new vans recently. One of them is the all-new Berlingo, one of Europe’s most popular commercial vehicles.
The original Citroen Berlingo was launched back in 1996 and over 1.5-million of them have been produced since, the latest generation fuses its famous durability and practicality with modern technology for a truly 21st century feeling van.
Technology and connectivity are big themes in all aspects of motoring at the moment, and the new Berlingo features a host of driver assistance systems – Citroen says there’s 20 in total. Many are controlled from the touchscreen infotainment system that is the centrepiece of the dashboard. Within you’ll find navigation, Bluetooth and DAB radio amidst a host of other functions, and it’s also equipped with smartphone integration for Android and Apple. Elsewhere, climate and adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display and the very useful ‘surround rear vision’ screen that replaces where a traditional rear-view mirror is based and uses three cameras to give a great field of view of what’s going on behind.
In terms of loading and space, the new Citroen Berlingo offers up to 4.4m³ of load space while payload potential ranges from 650 to 1000kg. Installed in the van is a new ‘Overload Indicator’ that can tell you if the payload limit has been exceeded, another useful new use of technology. In the cabin there’s a handy array of smaller storage areas, and the Berlingo can be chosen in two wheelbases and as a crew cab that seats 5, or as a standard panel van with seats for 2 or 3.
For now, the new Berlingo gets 1 petrol and 4 diesel power units to choose from but plans for the future do include a confirmed zero-emission all-electric version of the Berlingo, though the release date for this is currently unknown. A new 8-speed automatic is available in the more powerful diesel engines, with a 6-speed manual coming as standard.
The Citroen Berlingo has a history of success and thanks to its exciting new technology and practicality it looks set to have just as bright of a future.
