Posted 1 week agoRomanian brand Dacia has been pumping out some of the most affordable and practical cars of the last 5 years or so, and the brand has deservedly collected plaudits for its offerings. Now there’s a new one - the Dacia Jogger - and people with larger families should be quite excited, because this practical little car has space for 7.
Dacia, despite being very much a Romanian car brand (it takes its name from the historical kingdom that was based on modern-day Romanian lands) was purchased by Renault back in 1999, and since then, the French giant has shared much of its technology and engineering know-how with the brand. In recent years, vehicles like the Sandero and the Duster have been big hits with UK drivers and Synergy lease customers, and the Dacia Jogger will be hoping that it can follow in the footsteps of the models that came before it.
A compact MPV but with a long, low shape that leaves it looking a bit like a high-bodied estate, the Dacia Jogger is a 7-seater vehicle designed with families in mind. It is the successor to the Logan MCV and Lodgy and is a far more handsome car with more detail and thought in its design, it’s actually quite a looker for this genre of vehicle.
As well as seating up to 7 people, the long body can also be made to carry a lot of luggage. Folding all the seats down will result in a cavernous 2,085-litres of load space. Inside there’s an 8-inch touchscreen and a lot of safety technology including parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and active emergency braking. Depending on the trim level, there’s also automatic headlights and cruise control with speed limiting setting.
Powering the Dacia Jogger in the UK is the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 109bhp. A 6-speed manual is provided as standard though an automatic transmission is offered as an option. It should provide around mid-40s miles per gallon, and has a 0-62mph time of just over 11-seconds. A sensible, well-judged engine given the expected users of this car.
