With the new lease Honda CR-V, Honda manages to improve the recipe on a car that has already found millions of homes across the world.
Honda launched the CR-V in 1995, a long, long time before the SUV market really boomed. Since then, its popularity has been increasing consistently and the car is Honda’s most popular model. In fact, over 9,000,000 of them have been sold since it first appeared on the scene. This is one of the world’s best-selling SUVs, and our Honda CR-V lease deals are a Synergy favourite.
Now into its 5th generation, the lease CR-V has undergone some changes to give it extra appeal. For a start, it can now be bought as a 7-seater – making it an attractive choice for larger families – as well as abandoning diesel engines in favour of hybrid technology that’s set to arrive with us in 2019. Until that unit arrives, the sole option in the CR-V is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a power output of either 170 or 189bhp combined with a ‘CVT’ automatic gearbox. The 2019 hybrid model will utilise a 2.0-litre petrol engine alongside with two electric motors and an intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (Honda calls it ‘i-MMD’). It will come with the option of two-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The addition of a 7-seat option into the new CR-V means Synergy customers have, for the first time, the option of a CR-V with two extra seats. When they’re not needed for seating, they can be folded away into the floor of the car to increase loading capacity. At its peak carrying capacity, the CR-V has 1, 756-litres of space to fill.
Honda generously equips all of its cars – for example, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, Cruise and Climate control are all standard - but the ‘Sensing’ safety package is something to really consider adding to your CR-V. It bundles a huge selection of safety equipment such as traffic sign recognition, lane and road departure warning systems, intelligent and adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation braking. When driving a family around, the addition of safety equipment like this can not only make driving easier, so when you lease a Honda CR-V you can have extra peace of mind.
