Kia the best car. Kia proceed the top one
Posted one year agoKia is all geared up to launch its new ProCeed early this year, and it’s a distinctive ‘shooting-brake’ style estate car with 5-doors and an excellent selection of equipment and engines. Though Kia itself is a South Korean company, the ProCeed has been developed in Europe exclusively for European buyers, this car won’t be sold anywhere else.
A shooting-brake body style (named after the late 19th century horse drawn carriages of hunting parties) is quite an unusual thing to see in the current motoring landscape. The most famous example currently on sale is the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, which the new ProCeed does bare a resemblance to from the rear. The main benefit of this style is increased cargo capacity within a small footprint – the ProCeed actually has 50% more boot space than the standard Ceed hatchback. Essentially, it’s a mixture of hatchback, coupe and estate styles, which admittedly won’t be to everyone’s taste.
To power your ProCeed you’ll find a choice of 2 petrol and a sole diesel unit. Petrol power comes from a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder turbo badged as ‘T-GDi’ with 138bhp, or a slightly larger 1.6-litre T-GDi which puts out a touch over 200bhp. For the black pump user, a 1.6-litre, 134bhp ‘CRDi’ turbocharged diesel engine is the only option. At the time of writing, the CO2 emissions and mpg ratings are unannounced.
3 separate trim levels for the ProCeed leasing deals will be available from launch – GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT. GT-Line is considered the entry level car but is still very well equipped. 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, the ProCeed’s Panamera-esque full-width LED brake light, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a reversing camera and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, smartphone integration and a reversing camera are all part of an excellent standard equipment line-up. GT-Line S will add extra luxuries such as leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control and a premium JBL sound system with 8 speakers.
