Maserati Ghibli Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
Like most of its firm’s creations, the beautiful Maserati Ghibli is a car that’s very easy to fall in love with.
The Maserati Ghibli is a name that has been around sporadically since 1966, when the Italian company produced its first model bearing the Ghibli name. 2013 saw the firm once again bring the name back to the market, producing a new luxury saloon to take on some of Europe’s heavy-hitting marques.
Designed to rival the likes of the BMW 5-series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Jaguar XF, the Maserati Ghibli is dripping with Italian character, possessing the finest styling in this sector of the market and produced in a new factory in Grugliasco, near Turin, Italy.
‘Ghibli’ as a name is taken from the Libyan name for the powerful dry, hot wind that blows across its landscape. It is therefore suitable that the car that is named after it is powered by engines that can propel it along at a serious pace. Its petrol V6 engines – all 3.0-litre turbos – are designed and assembled by Ferrari and come in 2 states of tune – 345 or 424bhp. The considerable power hike of the latter being available only in the sportier Ghibli S. A diesel engine is also available, in fact, this was the first Maserati ever to be fitted with a diesel unit, again a 3.0-litre turbo V6, but producing 272bhp here. All engines are fitted with an 8-speed automatic gearbox from transmission experts ZF, and ‘Q4’ models are all-wheel drive, as opposed to the standard rear-wheel drive layout.
2019 sees the addition of 2 new trim levels of Ghibli to the line-up – ‘GranLusso’ and ‘GranSport’. The former focuses exclusively on luxury, with a gorgeous leather interior by Ermenegildo Zegna and emphasising Italian style in its designs. The latter turns its attention towards the sporting heritage of Maserati, with sports seating, a sports steering wheel and red brake callipers among one of series of sporty design touches. Both of these models come with the adaptive LED matrix headlights that are simply fantastic for any night-time driving.
All Maserati Ghibli models come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth and smartphone integration, climate control, cruise control, a full leather interior, plenty of safety tech and electrically adjustable seating. For those seeking a little extra, an extensive options list is also available to pick from.
A true luxury vehicle that turns heads wherever it goes, it is perhaps harsh to suggest the Maserati Ghibli is just an alternative to the big hitters of the segment. It is a very special machine in its own right.
