Maserati Quattroporte Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
Quattroporte – or ‘four doors’ - a simple name for an extraordinary machine.
Most of the planet’s motoring marques would be jealous of Maserati’s rich heritage. From the early days of Grand Prix Racing and Formula 1 through to glamorous Grand Tourer’s of the 1950’s and 60’s, few brands can match the glamour and appeal of Maserati. In 1963, it produced its first saloon and simply named it the Quattroporte, meaning ‘four doors’ in English.
Since 1963, the Maserati Quattroporte has spawned several generations, with the latest being the 6th generation. Initial design and development of the car was overseen by Lorenzo Ramaciotti, a man Top Gear once called ‘the king of Italian car design and the designer behind Ferrari’s 360, F430 and the 612 Scaglietti, as well the Alfa Romeo 4C. Popular opinion credits Ramaciotti - along with the design department he oversaw- in creating one of the most attractive saloons of the 21st century.
The Quattroporte takes power from 3.0-litre turbocharged V6’s petrol and diesel engines, with the petrol units designed and built by Ferrari. With 346bhp, the Quattroporte can reach 62mph in just 5.5-seconds, all while producing one of motoring’s most stirring soundtracks. The broad, smooth power delivery is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox by ZF, producers of some of the best automatic transmissions on the market. While petrol may be the purest way to experience what a Maserati has to offer, a diesel of the same size and layout is offered, with 272bhp and capability of late-30’s mpg in fuel efficiency. Maserati has also historically produced a ‘GTS’, a high-performance version powered by a Ferrari-derived turbocharged V8.
As well as a base model, Maserati currently offers the Quattroporte in GranLusso and GranSport levels of trim. The former focuses on the more luxurious side of the firm’s creations and features an interior finished by Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna, while GranSport emphasises sporty design touches and performance, with larger 21-inch alloy wheels, shift paddles and sports seating. A range of optional extras and personalisation is available to Synergy customers wanting to make their Quattroporte more exclusive to themselves, and all Quattroporte’s are produced at Maserati’s Grugliasco plant, near Turin, Italy.
The Maserati Quattroporte is a machine that finds itself in a position of being able to offer a unique experience in motoring. Engines by Ferrari, interiors by Zegna and a quality and pride expected of one of Italy’s leading marques, this is a very special car that truly appeals to the heart.
