CEO takes up Chairman of BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee

Paul Parkinson, founder and CEO of Synergy Car Leasing, has been named as the incoming Chairman of the Leasing Broker Committee of British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA).

This follows a successful year of Paul as Vice-Chairman of the Leasing Broker Committee, steering the group through the global pandemic as well as Brexit implications and challenges.

Paul will take up his new role this month, having been a member of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee since 2015.  Vehicle leasing brokers across a section of both large and small organisations, as well as the major finance providers for the sector, make up the committee members.

The remit of the committee is to drive up industry standards by sharing best practice, and its recent successes include the roll out of online training programmes and its broker audits, focusing on financial compliance.

Despite global supply chain challenges, Paul’s appointment comes at a time of increased growth at Synergy Car Leasing.

Paul, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of Chairman of the Leasing Broker Committee. I will work to ensure that through our shared voice and learning, as well as sector policy developments, our broker members continue to benefit from the work of the committee and the wider BVRLA.”

“I am committed to further developing member engagement, as this sector is very well positioned to capitalise on the growth in online sales based on the flexibility of choice that comes with leasing and the high levels of professionalism shown in the sector.”

Outgoing BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee Chairman, Alan Carreras said:

“It has been a pleasure to work so closely with Paul over the last year, and I know that Paul will champion the interests of BVRLA members, as well as the customer, in his role as Chairman, and will continue to drive the sector forward.”

Paul finishes: “I would like to thank Alan, on behalf of the committee, for his work and support over the last two extremely challenging years.”
