Posted one month agoSome might say it was brave of Skoda to launch a brand-new car into the ultra-competitive family hatchback segment, after all, these are the plains on which the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Mazda 3 roam. Those cars are all pretty hungry lions, but Skoda isn’t exactly a limping deer, the brand has grown and grown over the last 10 years or so and Skoda customers absolutely adore their machines, so releasing the new Skoda Scala lease into the wild is a calculated, informed move.
Skoda had a car in this section of the market before. It was called the Rapid, and really the new Skoda Scala is a direct successor to the Rapid, albeit an entirely new creation from the Czech brand. From the outside, the new Scala is much more visually attractive than its predecessor, with a wider, more angular front end now well-known as the ‘face’ of Skoda’s products. It’s well-proportioned and not overly showy, again, very much on par with the Skoda design philosophy, making the Skoda Scala lease deals a tempting option for many.
It wouldn’t be a Skoda if it didn’t have a spacious interior either and the new Skoda Scala is more spacious than both the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus in the rear legroom department and it also has a larger boot. Power comes from a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, an engine that is expected to be the most popular choice with Synergy customers. Its impressive levels of economy and power deliver what most customers require on a daily basis, but a 148bhp 1.5-litre is available for those who require a little more grunt. Longer distances are probably best covered with a Skoda Scala lease deal with the 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine. Its impressive combined fuel economy figure of over 67mpg should help cut down fuel costs. Lastly, a DSG double-clutch automatic gearbox is offered as an extra on some models/engine selections - a transmission selection that helps make driving absolutely effortless.
