Relatively speaking, the Outback is a fairly rare car to see on the road in our country, but it certainly has some strongholds, particularly in the rural corners of the UK who adore this car for its practicality, all-wheel drive capabilities and solid workhorse dependability.
2021 sees the 6th generation of the Subaru Outback arrive in the UK, and here at Synergy you can lease one on either a business or personal agreement. Originally, it was a version of the famous Legacy that Subaru used to produce in the 1990’s. 1994 saw the first version of what would become the Outback arrive, and it’s been offered for sale since.
The Subaru Outback is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine arranged in a ‘boxer’ layout, where cylinders fire sideways instead of at the more traditional 45 degree angle. This has the benefit of lowering the centre of gravity and improving handling, and it’s a bit of a Subaru trademark. Every Outback also comes with permanent all-wheel drive and a 200mm ground clearance. That means the Outback has no issues with rutted roads, grass, mud, snow, and even sand. Active torque vectoring and hill descent control help hugely too. It’s a car that deals with almost anything you can throw at it, without being an SUV, and that’s highly appealing to many people who live outside of large population centres, in more remote parts of the UK where conditions are often more difficult for driving.
